Volunteer Opportunity: Dental Trainer

The Dental Clinic has need for short term dental volunteers to provide training for the DCMC dentists. Dr. Charles Rabemahefa, Clinic Dental Officer, lists the following education priorities: 1)diagnosis, treatment planning and periodontology; 2)operative dentistry including composite veneer, bonding and amalgam, bleaching, and restoration of fractured teeth; and crown and bridge work. Contribute to the Dental Clinic Poor Fund

The dental clinic has established a sliding fee scale to offset costs for treating those who cannot pay. The program has been established with village leaders of two neighboring villages who vouch for those in need. Volunteer Opportunity: Pack a Sea Container

Volunteers are needed on February 23ird to pack a 40 foot sea container with supplies headed for the Dodoma project. Bring a lunch and meet 8:30 a.m. at Global Health Ministries warehouse: 7831 Hickory St. N. in Fridley, Minnesota.

Can't come that day? Global Health Ministries depends on on hundreds of volunteers to sort and recondition equiment and pack them into containers to ship to many hospital locations overseas. There are countless ways to serve as a group or individual. Contact ghmoffice@cs.com.

Join in Building for the Next Generation

To bring plans to life for the next phase of the DCMC project DTHD has launched a$3 million captial campaign to build an eighty bed specialized hospital to meet the needs in the area and complement the existing services in the region. The specialities to be served are complicated OB/GYN and vesico-vaginal fistula repair, traumatic orthopedic care, maxillofacial surgery, and cardiology. The hospital will also receive maternity patients from neighboring Ntyuka village. DCMC's vision for the hospital is to develop international health care partners for training and exchange opportunities. To learn more or plan a gift contact dthd@dthd.org.

 

 

 

 

Contribute to Rural Dispensary Staff Housing Projects

DCMC's Community Health Department provides oversight management to Kondoa, Lwihomelo and Chamkoroma rural Lutheran dispensaries which clinical officers, nurse midwives, laboratory assistants and medical attendants to providing essential health interventions and education. Throughout Tanzania it is a challenge to keep a full staff of health workers in a rural area. DTHD donors have an opportunity to contribute to a staff housing building fund for Chamkorma workers. Five thousand of the estimated $20,00o was recently donated by Westwood Lutheran Church. Designate your gift to DTHD to staff housing fund.

 

 

 

Dodoma Tanzania Health Development is registered with Network for Good to accept credit card donations online. There is a 4.75%fee for paying by credit card. This fee is used to pay banks and credit card companies and other administrative costs. When you complete your donation. Network for good will send you an email confirming your donation. DTHD will acknowledge your gift when notified of the electronic transfer.
